Broncos QB Russell Wilson says he was asked earlier in season to adjust contract or risk benching ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — As quarterback Russell Wilson explains it, his job was in jeopardy nearly two months ago and after the Denver Broncos’ biggest win.It was then, during the bye week following a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 29, Wilson said he was facing an ultimatum from the team: Adjust his contract or risk being benched. He didn't budge. Weeks later, Wilson is now finishing out the season on the sideline. It may just be the end of his time in Denver, too.A disappointed Wilson spoke to the media Friday after practice for the first time since being demoted earlier in the week by coach Sean Payton. Wilson will be relegated to the role of backup to Jarrett Stidham on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers (5-10). Wilson was perplexed by the timing of his benching since the Broncos (7-8) still have a chance of making the playoffs, even if slim. New Year, New Pattern. For Now

Published Thu, 21 Nov 2024 21:43:27 GMT

New Year, New Pattern. For Now Day after day of early April weather (40s and damp) is gone as New Year’s Eve provided a drier pattern, and a more seasonable one. Despite the chillier air, it was a welcomed change from the persistent drizzle/showers we were stuck with. That dry and seasonable air kicks off this new year as New Year’s Day turns out to be seasonable and dry with temps in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees. Sunshine will poke out from time to time, but a quiet a bit of cloudiness still lingers. Those clouds fade out this evening, and as skies clear, temps tumble. Most towns and cities drop back into the teens and 20s overnight, allowing for a colder start to tomorrow morning, but one that’s fairly typical for early January. With a ton of sun tomorrow and light winds, it’ll be a pleasant winter day with highs bouncing back into the lower 40s. Wednesday, we’ll step it up into the mid 40s. Thursday offers the next chance for a few scattered rain or snow showers, but precip wi...

New Year's Eve sweeps across the globe, but wars cast a shadow on 2024 New Year’s Day arrived to cheers from thousands in New York’s Times Square where a sparkling crystal ball descended to start 2024 with hope for some, even as the world’s ongoing conflicts subdued celebrations and raised security concerns across the globe.“It’s beautiful,” Corin Christian of Charlotte, North Carolina, said of the scene seconds past midnight as Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” blared from speakers in the square and many in the crowd held cell phones in the air, trying to capture the spectacle.“It’s going very well so far,” said Jacob Eriksson of Salt Lake City, Utah, with the earliest assessment of the New Year.
