KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Texas Rangers ace Jacob deGrom left Monday night’s start against the Kansas City Royals after four hitless innings because of a sore right wrist. The team said deGrom was removed as a precaution. He struck out five and walked one, throwing 39 of his 58 pitches for strikes. Two relievers finished a one-hitter for the Rangers in a 4-0 victory.“I felt it a little bit warming up,” deGrom said. “I thought it was going to loosen up and it actually tightened up a little bit as the game went on.“We’re playing it smart. Could I have kept going? Probably. But it was lingering and it got a little bit worse as the game went on. I just want to play it safe. We’ve got a long season ahead of us.”Beset by injuries the past two seasons with the New York Mets, the two-time NL Cy Young Award winner signed a $185 million, five-year contract with Texas as a free agent in December. The right-hander is 1-0 with a 3.48 ERA in four starts for the Rangers.“I’m honestly not too con...

The shot also snapped Soler’s career 0-for-10 slide against Webb.“The exciting part of it was that it put our team ahead,” Soler said. “The hitting coach told me today to move up and closer to the plate if I had an opportunity to face him. Perhaps that’s the reason for the result.”Webb’s outing ended after Soler’s blast. In his first start since signing a five-year $90 million contract extension ...

DENVER (KDVR) - After a Kansas City man was charged with shooting a teen who showed up at the wrong house while trying to pick up his sibling, a prosecutor said the shooting was not in self-defense and that Missouri's "stand your ground" law does not allow it.Investigators said 84-year-old Andrew Lester shot 16-year-old Ralph Yarl in the head and arm last week as he knocked on his front door. Lester claimed he thought the teen was trying to break in. The EU greenwashed fossil gas. Today, we are suing.

Published Thu, 20 Feb 2025 09:09:19 GMT

Last July, EU policymakers decided to greenwash fossil gas. Today, the WWF European Policy Office, Client Earth, BUND and Transport & Environment are taking them to the European Court of Justice. We are doing it to reassert a basic truth: all fossil fuels are dangerous for the planet. Only last summer, European cities baked under fierce heatwaves, rivers across our continent ran dry, and whole swathes of France, Spain, and Portugal were burned by unprecedented wildfires. In the midst of this devastation, the EU approved a new chapter of its supposed green investment guidebook — the EU Taxonomy — which stated that fossil gas-fired electricity is ‘green’. In fact, fossil gas is a fossil fuel that can cause plumes of methane that harm the climate just as badly as coal. However, under the guise of climate action, the gas Taxonomy could divert tens of billions of euros from green projects into the very fossil fuels which are causing those heatwaves, droughts, and wildfires. This is whi...
