For the first time since 2006, Hill-Murray is a conference/subdistrict champion.The Pioneers claimed that honor all to themselves Friday by downing South St. Paul 35-14 at Ettinger Field in South St. Paul to clinch the Skyway-Gold subdistrict title outright.Hill-Murray’s conference title in 2006 was a shared Classic Suburban Conference crown, split with St. Thomas Academy. LOUIS - A troubled St. Louis public housing complex that made national news several years ago for its faults is getting a $150 million facelift.Clinton-Peabody, located just south of Downtown St. Louis, is being rebuilt better than before. A large redevelopment of the facility will be supported by public and private funding. A trapped driver was rescued by crews after crashing off the side of a bridge in the Angeles National Forest on Friday night.The crash happened around 4:40 p.m. along Big Tujunga Road near Palmdale, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A couple says the Hollywood rental property where they live is infested with rodents that are biting their children while their landlord refuses to help.The family said the situation has become so dangerous, that they've been forced to seek help from others as the situation remains unaddressed.The landlord, however, has a different take, claiming the family are delinquent tenants who have refused to pay rent, owing him thousands of dollars.Jessica Spratt first moved into the 1915 craftsman-style home on North Cherokee Avenue with her husband, their three young children and her mother during the pandemic.Little did they know, they said the home was a “hell house” that contained all sorts of major issues including mice, roaches, animal excrement, mold, leaks and more. Two people were arrested on Friday after they were captured on surveillance video robbing a woman while she was pumping gas. On Friday at approximately 8:45 p.m., a victim reported a grand theft incident to the El Monte police that occurred on September 21 at a Route 66 gas station located at 12269 Garvey Ave. Surveillance video from the gas station showed one suspect entering the victim’s car through the passenger side while she was pumping gas, before fleeing the scene with the victim’s property in a getaway car driven by a second suspect. The suspects then transferred $2,300 from the victim’s bank account to their own bank account through the Zelle app.After the video footage was released to social and news media sites, detectives identified the suspects, Gabriel Ramos and Melissa Garavito, and located them in West Covina. Just when the temperatures started to cool down, the heat seeped back into Southern California. Residents in the Inland Empire are feeling the heat wave as temperatures in some areas reach triple digits. Many parks were empty as residents and community members remained inside to avoid the heat. Don Ramos, a Rancho Cucamonga resident who walks laps at Hermosa Park with his dog, cut his exercise short, as temperatures climbed to the 90s just before noon. “It’s bearable, but it’s getting a little warm for her so I'm ready to take her home,” he said.Other residents who chose to have a picnic to soak up the sun said they are keeping cool by “wiping ourselves down” and “throwing cold water in our face.” The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for several cities across SoCal, including some in the Inland Empire which could reach triple digits through Saturday. “Highs are generally expected to range 7-15 degrees above normal,” said Elizabeth Adams from the NW...Latest news
